This is the privacy policy for szia.ai, a personal blog operated by Marton Szel from Singapore. I take privacy seriously, and this page explains — in plain language — what data the site collects, why, and what you can do about it.

Who is responsible for your data

szia.ai is operated by Marton Szel as an individual, not as a company. For the purposes of data protection law, I am the data controller for any personal data collected through this site.

What data the site collects

There are two categories of data collected through szia.ai:

Data you give me directly: If you subscribe to the newsletter, you provide your email address. That's the only thing the subscription form asks for, and it's the only personal data I actively collect from you. I do not ask for your name, location, or anything else.
Data collected automatically: When you visit szia.ai, the site automatically collects some technical information through the hosting platform (Wix) and any analytics tools in use. This typically includes:
1. Your IP address (often abbreviated for analytics)
2. Your browser type and version
3. The device and operating system you're using
4. The pages you visit and how long you spend on them
5. The site or search engine that referred you
6. General location information derived from your IP (typically country or city level)

This information is collected through cookies and standard web analytics. It is not used to identify you personally, and I do not attempt to combine it with your email address.

Why this data is collected

Email address — to send you new blog posts and occasional updates from szia.ai. Nothing else.
Technical and analytics data — to understand which posts are read, fix issues, and improve the site over time.

I do not sell your data, rent it, share it for advertising, or use it for profiling.

Legal basis for processing (GDPR)

If you're in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another GDPR-aligned jurisdiction, the legal bases for processing your data are:

Consent — when you subscribe to the newsletter, you are giving consent to receive emails. You can withdraw this consent at any time by unsubscribing (every email contains an unsubscribe link).
Legitimate interest — for basic site analytics that help me understand and improve szia.ai, where this does not override your privacy rights.

Who has access to your data

Your data is handled by:

Me (Marton Szel) — for sending newsletter content and reviewing site analytics.
Wix (Wix.com Ltd.) — the platform that hosts szia.ai and provides the email subscription and analytics tools. Wix's privacy practices are described at wix.com/about/privacy.
Google (Google LLC) — through Google Search Console, which provides data about how szia.ai appears in Google search results (search queries, impressions, clicks, and indexing status). Google's privacy practices are described at policies.google.com/privacy.
Any analytics or email tools I add later — if I connect additional tools (such as Google Analytics or a third-party email service), this policy will be updated to reflect that, and those tools will have access to the data they process.

I do not share your data with anyone else. I do not sell it, trade it, or pass it to third parties for marketing.

International data transfers

szia.ai is operated from Singapore and hosted on Wix, whose servers and corporate operations are based primarily in the United States and Israel. Search performance data is also processed by Google in the United States and other countries where Google operates infrastructure. This means your data may be processed in countries outside your own. Where required by law (for example, for visitors in the EU/EEA), these transfers are covered by the safeguards Wix and Google provide under their respective privacy frameworks.

How long your data is kept

Email address — kept until you unsubscribe or ask me to delete it. Once you unsubscribe, your address is removed from the active mailing list.
Analytics data — retained according to the default policies of the analytics platform in use (typically a rolling window of 14–26 months).

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you have rights over your personal data. These generally include:

Access — ask what data I hold about you
Correction — ask me to correct inaccurate data
Deletion — ask me to delete your data ("right to be forgotten")
Withdrawal of consent — unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time
Objection — object to certain types of processing
Portability — receive your data in a portable format
Complaint — lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (for example, the PDPC in Singapore or your national authority in the EU/EEA)

Children's privacy

szia.ai is not directed at children under 16, and I do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has subscribed, please contact me and I'll remove their data.

I may update this policy as the site evolves — for example, if I add new tools or features that change how data is handled. The "last updated" date at the top will always reflect the most recent change. For significant changes, I'll mention the update in a newsletter post.
